Happy Election Day! Don’t Forget to Vote!

It’s here! It’s finally here! After twelve two long years, the election is finally here! No more attack ads! No more debates! No more Big Bird or binders full of women! For the love of God, no more Big Bird or binders full of women.

If you haven’t already and are registered to do so, go vote! When you get home, you can be a freak like me and stay up all night eagerly/anxiously/on-suicide-watch looking at returns, or you can watch a movie! (This is Festival of Films, after all.)

Our main site has a selection of free documentaries covering politics and social issues, which you can peruse. If you need some comic relief after this odyssey of a campaign, why not watch a comedy movie? I recommend this year’s hilarious The Campaign, as well as the biting satire, Bulworth.

What are your thoughts, dear readers? Do you have a favourite political film? Do you plan to watch any movies to distract yourself from Election Day? Are you just glad this whole sordid ordeal is over? Sound off in the comments below!

Yes, I drew that map. Yes, I will be filling it in throughout the night. DON'T YOU DARE JUDGE ME.

    Hi Damian,

I’m just glad election season is over, to be honest. I don’t think any candidate in any race rose above mud-slinging and it was ugly at times. The only politician who seemed to fully embody non-partisan cooperation was not running for office – the governor of my state, NJ – Governor Christie. Can’t believe I’m praising him, since he wasn’t my guy before Sandy came to town!

    Enjoy the night of returns!
