Steven Spielberg has crafted a very versatile career. His newest picture, “War Horse”, which is based on the children’s novel and stage production of the same name, is set before and during World War I. Unlike other Steven Spielberg war movies, this one includes an equine protagonist, Joey. The human protagonist is Albert, who enlists in the service after Joey is sold to the cavalry during World War I. Joey endures some brutal hardships, as does Albert, but their friendship remains unfailing.
To get yourself in the mood for a new Steven Spielberg movie, you should revisit some of his other work. Festival of Films currently features trailers for and segments of his most iconic movies, so you may reacquaint yourself with the breadth and brilliance of his work. View previews and clips from “Jaws”, “E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial”, “The Color Purple”, “Raiders of the Lost Ark”, and other classics. Doing this will reacquaint you with his rather impressive resume and get you in the mood to see “War Horse”.
Although screening these movie snippets may not be the same as watching free movies online, it will still motivate you to go see other films. And, before you know it, you will be able to see “War Horse” and other free new movies online.
